Diagnostic Testing

EDSCLA – What We Do

Educational Diagnostic Services & Consulting of Louisiana, LLC (EDSCLA) partners with districts in providing comprehensive evaluations for students with disabilities through licensed school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, and social workers.  EDSCLA collaborate with special education supervisors and administrators in meeting the assessment needs of the students and/or professional development needs of teachers.

The Evaluation Process: Evaluations are based on a comprehensive compilation of information drawn from a variety of sources.  If necessary requirements are missing, EDSCLA can provide onsite assistance to schools to gather appropriate documentation.

Evaluations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of Louisiana Bulletin 1508 Pupil Appraisal Handbook.  An integrated report, along with the determination of eligibility is provided to the supervisor of special education or designee.  The evaluation findings include an explanation of the results as well as what those results mean in terms of the student’s learning and the implications for the student’s educational program. Evaluation findings can also be interpreted for the student’s teacher(s) and family.  EDSCLA can attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Team meetings to explain the recommendations and assist in the development of the IEP.

Fees: Fees are determined by the specific testing requested.  Schools are not charged for testing materials.
